SAID SO
Lyrics by Saiah

Intro
You know they said that I was done here
Lately I’ve been running
Maybe I can flow
Maybe I can flow

Lord, I’m pulling the map out
Lost in this madhouse
Maybe I can flow
Maybe I can flow

Chorus
Because I said so
I ain’t got to wait until they give it to me late
I’m going go make sure
Because I said so
And you can play to lose while I go play the rules
And I still make more
Because I said so

Verse 1
I ain’t the smartest, the strongest, hardest, regardless I’m an artist.
Might as well be honest, some folks should learn how to be modest.
I’ve got to be minus the drama. Sorry, don’t even bother.
I saw the wanted signs. They’re all around us.
They want to hate it, but I get more motivated.
They clown us then go and play it.
But I’m taking notes so I know who’s faking.
The tortoise of rapping, I’m going against the napping rabbit.
Sneaking up like a tourist before I pass them.
Image and perception doesn’t matter to me.
I’d rather live casually than die a casualty, so scratch beef.
Too man suckers just want to be hard. Everybody can’t be hustling.
You better get a job, or own a business and get back on your business.
A lot of ya’ll don’t like what I been saying, ain’t going to listen.
I ain’t going to change just because you don’t like me.
Stay on the humble and if I’m wrong, get it right, Peace.

Chorus
Because I said so
I ain’t got to wait until they give it to me late
I’m going to go make sure
Because I said so
And you can play to lose while I go play the rules
And I still make more
Because I said so
And even though I want to get on
It ain’t enough to change up what I stand for
Because I said so
You can put your weight on my shoulders and you know that I hold you, hold you
Because I said so

Verse 2
Now I ain’t ever, ever trying to fall.
Clever, whether summer, fall, winter, spring up at you hot.
There ain’t no doubt at all.
Never thought that I could make it this far.
They can’t make you a star. They just let you shine what you are.
It ain’t about the cars, the size of your tires, or cash
Some people have it just to distract from the fact that they’re wack. (now run that back)
You can make the money. Don’t let it make you.
Just don’t sign your soul away when you do. (acting a foul)
I ain’t been working for nothing, struggling, searching for something.
Nothing is certain but once you leave from this earth you’re becoming dust.
And the dirt that you done is brought up in words and discussion by some person who never knew you but swears that you loved them.
Everywhere is a new woman or man caring who done it, when you kick the bucket ‘cause you made the CD that they’re bumping.
Its RIP or they’re glad to see you six under.
While I’m here, I’m going to give everything determined to run this.
I said so.

Chorus
Because I said so
I ain’t got to wait until they give it to me late
I’m going to go make sure
Because I said so
And you can play to lose while I go play the rules
And I still make more
Because I said so
And even though I want to get on
It ain’t enough to change up what I stand for
Because I said so
You can put your weight on my shoulders and you know that I hold you, hold you
Because I said so

Verse 3
Now, there’s always a way to do it.
All of my days I knew if I could bring the truth to music, there’s no excuse for me losing.
Notice we ain’t confusing it like it ain’t difficult.
But learn to be an individual.
Don’t just do what your friends will do.
People are going to get critical when you go down a different route.
They wish I would get the boot, but they could never fill my shoes.
‘Cause they’re swollen from folks stepping on my toes.
Now I smell out the liars like Pinocchio’s nose.
I put my soul into shows.
Hoping that hope is exposed.
Focused on opening doors folks told me were closed.
I had some holes in my shoe soles, no brand name clothes.
Not saying that I had it that bad, its so you know you can grow.
Nobody wants you to know it.
They look at you as a threat.
Better get ready ‘cause we’re headed to the roof, nothing less.
That means we take it to the top on you, hopping over obstacles.
Call Tom Cruise, tell him the mission’s not impossible.

Chorus
Because I said so
I ain’t got to wait until they give it to me late
I’m going to go make sure
Because I said so
And you can play to lose while I go play the rules
And I still make more
Because I said so
And even though I want to get on
It ain’t enough to change up what I stand for
Because I said so
You can put your weight on my shoulders and you know that I hold you, hold you
Because I said so

Outro
I want to get mine, get mine.
So when I get mine, get mine.
You want to get mine,
You get mad as you want.
I had enough.
Want to get mine, get mine.
So when I get mine, get mine.
You get mad as you want
I had enough.
