As with all of my music, my hope is to create imagery among strong central themes. "Ascension" is the focal point of this collection. It conveys a bit of intensity and is one of my most expressive pieces. I original wrote this theme with lyrics and a different title, but after consulting with my team, we found the final arrangement to have a "lifting" quality. I like to name my pieces with simplicity allowing the mind to explore further while experiencing the music.

Kevin Mongelli is a multi-award winning composer. He creates and performs original piano music with unexpected insight and intensity.

His world premier release ASCENSION, with his original compositions, has been well received internationally. With memorable themes, his pieces create visualizations, amid the symmetry of intensity and gentleness. Mr. Mongelli has performed throughout the east coast of the United States as well as the Caribbean and has a degree in music from Duquesne University.

His second album CHRISTMAS VARIATIONS, was released in 2010.
