“Chumbahway” is the name of a wonderful new group that write music for children.

Their brand new debut album “Choo Choo Music”, has 10 original songs that are sure to win the hearts of children.

Chumbahway’s songs are very rhythmic, and they use sweet vocal harmonies creating wonderful music that is infectious.

The songs are based on the acoustic guitar and the ukulele, with a selection of other melodic and percussive instruments that create the overall sound of the album.

The songs are suitable for children of all ages, as they cover themes such as friendship, nature, adventure and rest.

They are most keenly suited to children aged between 3 and 7 years old.

The Chumbahway Story:

Chumbahway is formed by experienced singer-songwriter Bob Vidler and wife Emi Vidler.

Bob is from Newcastle Australia, and Emi is from Nagoya Japan.

Bob is a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter, and wife Emi is a talented vocalist who adds harmonies and backing vocals to each of the songs.

Their young son inspired the writing of the Chumbahway songs.

In the months and early years after the birth of their son, Bob regularly made up songs to sing to him.

"Soon after our son was born, I started making up songs to sing to him. I didn’t realise it at the time, but over about 18 months to 2 years, these tunes grew into a collection of songs that would become an album of songs for children. I initially started recording some of them with the idea of just uploading a few of them to YouTube. But now there is an album of 10 songs ~ Music For Children".

Chumbahway’s album was released on Saturday July 15th, 2023.

Their debut album is available in both digital and CD formats.

Lyrics

Wasn’t it a great day today
We went to the park and we stayed and stayed
Peter rode his bike and Mary flew her kite
Wendy climbed a tree and Billy scratched his knee

But he’s ok, he’s ok
And we played

Wasn’t it a beautiful night tonight
We sat outside and the stars were so bright
Tiny little lights shining in the sky
We reached out to touch them but they were much too high

And we stayed, yeah we stayed and lay there
We stayed

And we danced around the trees
And we listened to the breeze
And we found some honey bees
And we talked about our dreams

And we stayed, yeah we stayed and played
And we played all day

And we played
And we stayed
And we played
We played
