About the artist

"If You Call, I Will Run..." - The commanding vocals from Exit 22’s title track provides the perfect backdrop for their upcoming CD, "If You Call", released through Awkward Silence Records in New York City. Raw, edgy vocals combined with smart, sophisticated songwriting highlight the performances from this Acoustic/Pop/Rock group based out of New York.

Exit 22 uses the combined songwriting forces of members Maggie Salamone and Chris Calamera to generate a more powerful, in-your-face pop sound similar to "Pat Benatar meets the Goo Goo Dolls" and "Kelly Clarkson meets Matchbox Twenty". An impressive combination of harder-hitting rock tracks and delicate, intimate numbers are being brought together for this collection, providing a brilliant landscape of Exit 22’s songwriting capabilities and pop sensibility.

After riding the success of their previous project (including placements on MTV and independent cinema), Exit 22 shifted gears and took on the challenging task of creating edgier, yet more sophisticated tracks to surround their previous accomplishments. By surrounding themselves with world-class producers such as Stuart Epps (Elton John, Led Zepplin) and David Snow (Faith Hill), the group was able to create a powerful and polished musical collection that has critics breathless and begging for more of their talented radio sound.

The group has worked diligently in creating a perfect balance of great storytelling and intimate, passionate music with very human qualities. In contrast with today's de-personalized auto tune bands and digital-perfect production, the band opts for a very "bare-bones" sound on their acoustic tracks, leaving a lot of space for beautiful dynamics, texture and emotional vulnerability. From the soul-bearing "Suicide" to the adrenaline-fueled "Tomorrow", Exit 22 isn't scared to expose the “naked” core of their lives within their songwriting.

Exit 22’s "If You Call" guarantees to hit the airwaves with full force and provide a listening experience like none other.

Lyrics

If You Call

Maggie Salamone/Chris Calamera

Fantasies of a boy in my head
Such a saint in my eyes
I remember all the things you said
Never quick to compromise
And all my regret kept me silent
I was so wrong

If you call I will run (She’s running away)
If you call I won’t hide (Fill the void, feel my pain)
When I hide don’t come find me (I have fallen from grace)
If you call I will run, Away, Oh, Away, Oh

You stay high while I kept going down
I was hooked when we met
I remember the times we drove around (All night)
I can still taste your sweat
And all my regret kept me silent
I was so wrong

If you call I will run (She’s running away)
If you call I won’t hide (Fill the void, feel my pain)
When I hide don’t come find me (I have fallen from grace)
If you call I will run, Away,
And I kept silent (Away)
You kept me slient

If you call I will run (She’s running away)
If you call I won’t hide (Fill the void, feel my pain)
When I hide don’t come find me (I have fallen from grace)
If you call I will run, Away
Taking it day by day (If you call I will run)
Taking it day by day (If you call I will run)
Taking it day by day (If you call I will run)
Taking it day by day (If you call I will run)
If you call I will run (She’s running away)
If you call I won’t hide (Fill the void, feel my pain)
When I hide don’t come find me, yeah
