Michael Julian has been a songwriter/composer since 1974 (Stairway to Heaven was a new song then!). His influences were and are Elton John, The Beatles, The Jackson Five, Mozart, Bach, Niel Young, ELO, Gordon Lightfoot, Madredeus, Pino Daniele and, of course, a host of others. He was awarded one of the two first 'John Belushi Memorial Scholarships' from James Belushi himself while attending the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL. He played and worked the music circuit in Chicago throughout the 90's. He played and wrote for bands such as Kui Lee Five, What's Left, Half Tones, Ting and Liquid Lust. Kui Lee Five played the famous Metro 4 times in one year as a new and upcoming band at the time. His song "Three Of Us" (co-written with Michael Hannan) was chosen to be played on WXRT's show Local Anesthetic. He also worked at Chicago's legendary Universal Recording Corporation alongside many well established names in the business. He has been practicing farming and ranching for 11 years. He is now, once again offering his masterfully honed song craft to the waiting world. He currently lives on the western slope of Colorado.
